I spoke to Monique this morning to let you know we will be dropping into Dukes Lounge on Wednesday.
As mentioned we have a radio show on Wednesday with Eastside FM 89.7 in Paddington. Called “A Twist of Cool” we play a broad range of music including blues, old school funk and many jazz genres. Georgina has been a DJ since 1981 and has been in radio since the late 80′s. We like to support and promote Australian artists, gigs and venues through our two radio programs. We live on the lower north shore but travel all over Sydney and with trips to Melbourne. We both love interesting cafe’s and coffee shops and we are looking forward to our first visit to Dukes Lounge and meeting you.
As mentioned I found out about you through my contacts at The Observatory Hotel. I love the English Breakfast tea which has the flavours of assam ( I can only assume this ! ) I like coffee, however my passion is for tea. We buy most of our tea from the Tea Centre in the CBD.
I note Duke loves motorbikes. I am afraid I am on old biker from the 1960′s and my affairs were with BSA. Norton and Triumph. All a bit old and staid by todays bikes. But I loved the simplicity and exhaust notes. In 1963 I was a “ton up” rider. To do 100 mph in those days on the death traps we rode was an experience. I wore an ex RAF Leather flying jacket with ex leather flying boots. Complete with a white scarf. Helmets were an option!!
Duke. How about Geoff Duke the great English TT rider ? I met with Barry Sheene when he was here and dined with him at the old ANA Hotel. We had a great time discussing the “old days”.
We are both looking forward to seeing you Wednesday.
